Obituary- Crupper, Charles 1
Charles Crupper Sr.
ROSSVILLE — Charles G. Crupper Sr., 75, Rossville, died Monday, Aug. 26,1 996, at his home.
He was born Oct. 14, 1920, in Nowata, Okla., the son of Willis P. and Elizabeth Parker Crupper. He spent his early life in Oklahoma before he moved to Dearing in Montgomery County. He lived in the Ross¬ville community many years. He worked for the Gas Service Co., in Topeka 22 years before he retired in 1982.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific where he was a prisoner of the Japanese.
He was a member of Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31 of the American Legion in Rossville.
He was married to Virginia Kovar March 4, 1950, in Bentonville, Ark. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Charles G. Crupper Jr., Papillion, Neb.; four brothers, Arthur L. Crupper, Howard, Roy Neil Crupper, Portland, Ore., Joseph P. Crupper, Alexandria, Va., and Edward W. Crupper, Albuquerque, N.M.; a sister, Ramona B. Wierima, Vacolt, Wash.; a grandson and a granddaughter.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys. Charlie Company of First Engi¬neers at Fort Riley will conduct graveside services at Rossville Cemetery. Mr. Crup¬per will lie in state from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m.
