James David Edmonds
James David Edmonds, 94, To¬peka, died Sunday, July 12, 1992, at the Rossville Valley Manor.
Mr. Edmonds was a cattle feeder and farmer. He retired in 1973. He was an Army veteran of World War I
He was born July 10, 1898, in McLouth, the son of William T. and Minnie T. Knight Edmonds. He attended Winchester schools.
Mr. Edmonds was a member of the former Edmonds Chapel in McLouth, Winchester Christian Church, where he was chairman of the board for many years, Bethel Community Church in Topeka, the XYZ Club in Silver Lake, the Jay- hawk Barracks and a 50-year mem¬ber of Silver Lake Post No. 160 of the American Legion in Silver Lake.
He was married to Leona Housh on March 18, 1922, in Leavenworth. She survives. A granddaugh¬ter preceded him in death.
Other survivors include two sons, J. Harlan Edmonds, Topeka, and David Wayne Edmonds, Greenville, S.C.; a sister, Willo Lobb, McLouth, three brothers, Adair Edmonds, Oskaloosa, Kenneth Ed¬monds, Liberty, Mo., and William Edmonds, McLouth; four grandchil¬dren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Parker-Price Mortu¬ary. Military graveside services with honors will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Mr. Edmonds will lie in state at the mortuary.
