James David Edmonds
James David Edmonds, 94, Topeka, died Sunday, July 12, 1992, at a Rossville nursing home.
Mr. Edmonds was a cattle feeder and farmer. He retired in 1973. He was an Army veteran of World War I.
He was born July 10, 1898, in McLouth, the son of William T. and Minnie T. Knight Edmonds. He at¬tended Winchester schools.
Mr. Edmonds was a member of the former Edmonds Chapel in McLouth, Winchester Christian Church where he was chairman of the board for many years, Bethel Community Church in Topeka, the XYZ Club in Silver Lake, the Jayhawk Barracks and a fifty year member of Silver Lake Post No. 160 of the American Legion in Silver Lake.
He was married to Leona Housh on March 18, 1922, in Leavenworth. She survives. A granddaughter preceded him in death.
Other survivors include two sons, J. Harlan Edmonds, Topeka, and David Wayne Edmonds, Greenville, S.C.; a sister, Willo Lobb, McLouth; three brothers, Adair Edmonds, Oskaloosa, Kenneth Edmonds, Liberty, Mo., and William Edmonds, McLouth; four grandchildren; and eight great-grand¬children.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Parker-Price Mortuary. Military graveside services with hon¬ors will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mr. Edmonds will lie in state after 4 p.m. today the mortuary. Memorial | contributions may be made to Bethel Chapel and sent in care of Bruce Ferguson, 2100 S.E. 38th Circle, 66609.
