Mary Lou DeBacker
Mrs. Mary Lou DeBacker, 49, Delia, died Tuesday in a Topeka hospital where she was admitted Monday. She had cancer and had been released from the hospital Saturday. She had been admitted to the same hospital June 19.
She was born May 3, 1928, at Emmett and spent most of her life in the EmŽmett and Delia communities.
Mrs. DeBacker was precinct committeewoman for the Democratic party in Jackson Countys Washington TownŽship several years.
She was married to George DeBackŽer June 13, 1946, at Delia. He survives.
Other survivors include a son, Severin DeBacker, Delia; a daughter, Laureen DeBacker, at home; her mother, Mrs. Irene Ketter, Delia; two brothers, Lawrence Ketter, 322 Hillside Drive, and Melvin Ketter, 2828 Wisconsin; a sister, Mrs. Florence Martin, 2823 W. 19th; and a granddaughter.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Delia. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery at St. Marys.
Mrs. DeBacker will lie in state at Verschelden Funeral Home at St. Marys where rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. today. Memorial contribuŽtions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
DEBACKER, MARY LOU age 49, of Delia, Kansas, passed away July 26, 1977. Rosary will be at 8:30 P.m. Wednesday at Verschelden Chapel. Mass of the Resurrection 10 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Church, Delia. Interment Mount Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys. Memorial conŽtributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
