Obituary- Diehl, George 2
George D. Diehl
George Daniel Diehl, 53, was dead on arrival at a Topeka hospital Sunday after he suffered a heart attack at his home, 3115 Minnesota. He had suffered a heart attack May 11, 1966 and had had an attack several years ago.
He was born Oct. 17, 1913 at Stockton in Rooks County and had lived in Topeka many years. He had been employed by Graves Truck Line since 1957 and earlier was employed by Coe Seed Company 19 years. He was a member of Local No. 696 of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Hazel Diehl, at home; three sons, Gary Daniel Diehl, 2320 Virginia, Mrs. Phylis Diane Roosevelt, James Earl Diehl, Ansbach, Germany, and Frank Eugene Diehl, at home; a daughter, Long Beach, Calif.; a stepson, George G. Nitzseke, Springfield, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Doris Jean Stankiewicz, Long Beach, Calif.; a brother, Earl Diehl, 2540 Amhurst Road; three sisters, Mrs. Iva Marney and Mrs. Ruth Martinek, both of Rossville, and Mrs. Alice Gentry, 1129 Webster; and 11 grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Parker Mortuary. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Assn.
