Mrs. BIanche Gilbert
Mrs. Blanche Gilbert, 74, died Sunday morning in a Topeka nursing home where she had been since January 10.
Mrs. Gilbert was born October 18, 1884, at Rossville. She attended school there and taught in country schools in that vicinity for several years. She had been a resident of Oklahoma City for the past 40 years. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church and Nareme Chapter of Eastern Star in Oklahoma City.
She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Maude Reinhardt, 706 Tyler, and Mrs. Faye Wilder, Meriden.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Rossville Presbyterian Church; burial in Rossville Cemetery.
McMichael Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.
MRS. BLANCHE GILBERT
Mrs. Blanche Gilbert, who was born north of Rossville October 18, 1884, was laid to rest in Rossville cemetery Tuesday afternoon. She died Sunday in Topeka where she had been ill since January 10.
Mrs. Gilbert was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter B. Worthington of Rossville; she attended school here and was a teacher in schools in this vicinity for several years. She had lived in Oklahoma City the past 40 years. She was bookkeeper for the MacArthur Co. there until her retirement a few years ago; she was a member of Second Presbyterian Church and Nareme Chapter of Eastern Star in Oklahoma City.
She suffered a stroke at her home there December 18; she was brought to Topeka by her sisters in January and died following a fourth stroke Friday.
Surviving are the sisters, Mrs. Maude Reinhardt of Topeka, Mrs. Faye Wilder of Meriden; two nieces, Mrs. Eileen Jacoby and Mrs. Fern Miles, Topeka, and two great-nephews.
Services were conducted Tuesday at Rossville Presbyterian Church by Rev. L. Eugene Clements of Topeka.
