Darwin C- Banta
DELIA — Darwin C. Banta, 63, Delia,
died Wednesday at a Topeka hospital.
He had been ill since October 1980.
He was born Sept. 5, 1917, near Hoyt, the son of Ross and Helen Higbee Ban¬ta, and lived in the Hoyt area all his life.
Mr. Banta was a farmer. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 58 at Topeka and the National Farmers Organization. He was an Army veteran of Korea.
He married Roxie Mitchell June 25, 1965, in Rossville. She survives.
Other survivors include four step-daughters, Mrs. Jeanette Lister, Ed¬monds, Okla., Mrs. Jean Holzmeister, Lawrence, Mrs. Sally Carnevale, San Mateo, Calif., and Susan Nadeau, Oak¬land, Calif.; three stepsons, Michael Nadeau, Topeka, and David Nadeau and Dennis Nadeau, both of Rossville; a sister, Mrs. Alice Runkle, Hoyt; a brother, Robert Banta, Phoenix, Ariz.; and 11 grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Parker-Price Mortuary. Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery, north of Silver Lake. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3003 Van Buren, Topeka, 66611.
