Harris
Services were to be at 2 p.m. Monday in Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church for Mrs. Ida S. Harris, 84, Topeka. She died Wednesday, June 4, at a Topeka nursing home.

Mrs. Harris was born Jan. 5, 1902, at Silver Lake, the daughter of Jones and Lizzie House Anderson.

She was a 50-year member of Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, where she served several years as director of the senior choir, organized and worked with the Go Getters, a children’s choir, and was organist for the Baptist Training Union.

Her husband, Frank Murphy Harris, died in 1964.

Survivors include three stepsons, Harvey Harris, Frank Harris Jr. and Noel Harris, all of Los Angeles; a stepdaughter, Esther Brown, Paris, Calif.; a brother, Clarence C. Anderson, Mayetta; and two sisters, Mrs. Edna Carson and Mrs. Elizabeth Carson, both of Topeka.

Burial was to be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Bowser-Johnson Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
