Lulu Holcomb
Lulu “Lou” Holcomb, 101, Topeka, died Monday, May 17, 1999, at a Topeka nursing home.
She was born September 17, 1897, in West Liberty, KY, the daughter of Mathew and Elizabeth Caskey Lewis. She lived most of her life in the Silver Lake and Rossville areas.
Mrs. Holcomb attended church in Silver Lake. She was a member of the Silver Lake Community Club, Rossville Countryside Club, and the XYZ Club in Silver Lake.
She married Clifford Holcomb on April 4, 1918, in Topeka. He died February 9, 1979. Mrs. Holcomb also was preceded in death by a son, Clyde Holcomb, on May 7, 1981.
Survivors include two grandsons, Thomas Holcomb, Topeka, and Robert Holcomb, Houston, TX; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Her graveside service was Thursday at Prairie Home Cemetery northwest of Topeka.
Davidson Funeral Home, Topeka, was in charge of arrangements.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Prairie Home Cemetery northwest of Topeka. Mrs. Holcomb will lie in state from noon to 9 p.m. today at Davidson Funeral Home where visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m.
