Bauer
Robert Francis Bauer, 58, Carbondale, died Wednesday, March 9, 1994, at a Topeka hospital.
Mr. Bauer was a corrections of¬ficer for the Kansas Reception and Diagnostic Center for 24 years. He previously had been a construction labor foreman and was a Marine veteran from 1953 to 1961.
He was born Aug. 3, 1935, in Delia, the son of Oliver J. and Al¬ice M. Vaughn Bauer.
He was married to Beverly L. Foster on March 19, 1977, in Topeka. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Robert E. Bauer and Daniel L. Bauer, both of Topeka; a daugh¬ter, Susan R. Bauer Lawson, Topeka; three stepdaughters, Sandi Hammersmith and Debbie McCain, both of Carbondale, and Sherry Womack, Charlotte, N.C.; a stepson, Mike Stancil, Fayetteville, N.C.; five brothers, Orville Bauer, Las Vegas, Nev.; Harold P. Bauer, Overland Park, Herschel F. Bauer, Oliver J. Bauer and Eugene J. Bauer, all of Topeka; three sisters, Herma Hoffman and Sophia Bauer, both of Topeka, and Regina Shook, Columbia, S.C.; 14 grand¬children; and six great-grandchil¬dren.
Services were at 10 a.m. Mon¬day at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home. Burial was in Carbondale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 5375 SW 7th, Topeka, 66606.
