Obituary- Marney, George S.

George Marney Buried In St. Joe
A private memorial serŽvice for George S. Marney, 51, was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, in the chapel of the Rupp Mortuary in St. Joseph, Mo. The Rev. Donald Bletscher officiated. Interment was at Memorial Park cemetery in St. Joseph.
Mr. Marney was born October 9, 1913 at RossŽville and lived in the RossŽville and Willard communŽities all his life until four- teen years ago when he moved to St. Joseph, Mo. He was section foreman at the Rock Island Railroad yards at St. Joseph when he retired three years ago due to failing health. He had worked for the railroad 29 years, starting at Willard. He was a veteran of World War II serving overseas as a Marine for three years.
He moved to Topeka three years ago when his health began to fail to be near the Veterans Hospital. He livŽed at 3614 West 8th. He died Sunday, July 11, at the VetŽerans Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Alta Marney; a step-daughter, Mrs. ChrisŽtine Ziolowski of St. Joseph, Mo.; one sister, Mrs. VelŽma Lloyd, Willard; one broŽther, John Marney, Maysville, Mo.; two half-broŽthers, Charles and ThomŽas Marney, Topeka; one half-sister, Mrs. Mary Brown, Topeka, and four grandchildren.

ROSSVILLE Mrs. Francis Davis, Mrs. Sharon Rojas and Mrs. Myrtle Marney drove to St. Joe, Mo., Tuesday to atŽtend the funeral of Mr. George Marney. Candace Davis returned home with her mother. She had been visiting Mr. and Mrs. Jess Fryman of St. Joe.

George Marney Dies
George S. Marney, 51, St. Joseph, Mo., passed away July 11. He had been living in Topeka recently to be near the Veterans Hospital where he was an out-patient.
Funeral services and burial were Tuesday in St. Joseph, Mo.
