may not so much seek to be
consoled, as to console; to be
understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love; for it
is in giving that we receive, it
is in pardoning that we are
pardoned, and it is in dying
that we are born to eternal life.

Bennie J. Martinek
July 4, 1913 - March 4, 1995

As each day dawns, and time marches on,
Our lives still feel some sense of pain
For the loss of our beloved husband and Dad
Still inside our hearts does remain.

We will never forget the light touch of his hand
As he guided us all along the way
For deeds of kindness and words of love
Still grow in our hearts every day.

God’s plan is not always very clear in this life
As we struggle to try to understand
The memories are precious of the times that we shared
In this live here on earth, hand-in-hand.

As we pray for the souls of our loved ones we miss
We know that God cares for us all;
And the angels are carrying our Dad, Sonny, and Dwight
To heaven’s peace and God’s sweet, prayerful call.
