WILLIAM H. KERR
Funeral services for William H. Kerr, were held Monday at 2:00 p. m. at the Presbyterian church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Ivan Rundus.
Mr. Kerr died Saturday morning at his home east of Rossville. His last illness dated from late last Fall.
He was a native of Rossville. Born January 4, 1890, his birthplace is now the S. O. Parr home, where he lived with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Sam Kerr until the age of seven After receiving his education in Marietta, Ohio, he took up the lithographing trade, working at this at Dallas, Texas, Denver and lastly with Hall’s in Topeka until his marriage to Ethel Reid when he took up farming.
Mr. Kerr had served his community in a number of places of trust serving on the township board and on the school board. He was a member and elder of the Rossville Presbyterian church, a member of Hesperian Lodge No 111, A. F. & A. M
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ethel Kerr, a son Glenn W Kerr, a granddaughter Alice Ann Kerr of Mission, Kans; a sister, Mrs. Jennie Gates, of Marietta, Ohio.
Music was furnished by Mrs. Don Berkey, with Mrs. Lula Rachel Hill at the piano.
Pallbearers were F. E. Pardee, Robert Rawlings, Marvin Davis, John Pearl, Roy Wilt and H.H. Davis.
Burial was in Rossville cemetery.
