Vencille McClain

Funeral services were held December 30, at Cowan-Edwards-Yorgensen Funeral Home, Manhattan, for Vencille McClain, 72, who passed away Friday, December 27, 1985, at the College Hill Nursing Center in Manhattan.
Mr. McClain was born February 28, 1914, in Lenox, Ky., the son of Roy and Eva Trimble McClain.
He was educated in the Rossville schools, Emporia and Washburn colleges. He was a teacher and salesman. He was a veteran of World War II.
Mr. McClain was married in 1940 to the former Viola Strimple. They were the parents of two sons. She died July 22, 1982.
His survivors include two sons, Arlan McClain, Dixon, Ill., and Dr. Eldon McClain, Ocean Springs, Miss.; two brothers, Thornton McClain and Luther McClain, both of Rossville; four sisters, Mrs. Mazie Gooderl, Hoyt, Mrs. Nancy Preble, Mesa, Ariz., Mrs. Barbara Casto, Ukiah, Calif., and Mrs. Harold Reser, Rossville; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ora McClain.
In 1984, he married Mrs. Lillian Ball Nichols at Living Water Ranch, Olsburg. She survives.
Burial was in the Rossville City Cemetery.
