Lawrence J. Bindel
FIDELITY — Lawrence J. Bindel, 84, Fidelity, died Wednesday at a Sabetha nursing home where he lived since October 1980.
He was born June 4, 1897, at Muenster, Texas, the son of John Phillip and Catherine Bruns Bindel.
Mr. Bindel was a retired former and stockman.
He was a member of St. Augustine’s Catholic Church and a member of the church council for many years at Fidelity. He also was a 50-year member of the Knights of Columbus of Horton.
He married Margaret C. Dix Aug. 14, 1919, at Fidelity. She died June 30, 1979.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Rita Wehner, Rossville; a son, Leo Bindel, Sabetha; a sister, Mrs. Louise Kasten, Corvallis, Ore.; nine grand¬children; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday of St. Augustine's Catholic Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery at Fidelity. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Thursday at Popkess Mortuary, Sabetha. Memorial contributions may be made to a fund to be designated by the family at a later time in care of the mortuary.
