Sam Oliver
Word was received here Tuesday by Mr. and Mrs. David Hartzell of the death of Sam Oliver at his home at Piedmont, Mo., Friday, May 31. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon, June 1. Burial was at Piedmont in the Masonic cemetery.

Mr. Oliver was a former resident of this community, in the early days coming here in April, 1875. His mother formerly owned the farm north of Rossville now owned by J.F. Zookeeper's.

Mr. Oliver was born at Warrensburg, Pa., in April 1856. At the date of his death he was 73 years and 1 month old.

He was married to Rose Hartzell, a cousin of David Hartzell of this city, in November, 1884.

He is survived by his widow, one brother Simon J. Oliver of Santa Barbara, Calif., and three sisters, Mrs. Ella Moore, Berkley, Calif., Mrs. Tom Keighley of Wellington, and Mrs. Alice Morris, of Delia.
