Angela Persons
ST. MARYS — Angela Jean "Angie" Persons, 20, St. Marys, died Thursday, Dec. 16, 1999, at a St. Marys hospital.
Ms. Persons worked at Katie’s Korner and the First National Bank. She was a secretary and agent for American Family Insurance Co. in St. Marys.
She was born Jan. 25,1979, in Topeka, the daughter of Charles A. and Pamela Marshall Persons. She was raised in Rossville and graduated from Rossville High School in 1997, where she was a member of the drill team. She moved to St. Marys after her graduation.
Ms. Persons was a member of St. Marys United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Pamela and Jim Hays, Rossville; her father, Charles Persons, Topeka; a brother, David Persons, Rossville; her fiancee, David J. Hemler, St. Marys; and grandparents, Larry and Ann Marshall, St. Marys.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the St. Marys United Methodist Church in St. Marys. Burial will be in the Clere Cemetery north of Emmett. Ms. Persons will lie in state after 2 p.m. Sunday at the Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys, where visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society in Topeka or to the St. Marys United Methodist Church and sent in care of the funeral home.

Angela Jean “Angie” Persons, 20, died Thursday, December 16, 1999, at the St. Marys Hospital, St. Marys.
She was born January 25,1979, in Topeka, the daughter of Charles A. and Pamela Marshall Persons.
She grew up in the Rossville community and was graduated from Rossville High School in 1997. She was a member of the Drill Team in high school.
She moved to St. Marys after graduation. Angie had worked at Katie’s Komer, the First National Bank, and was currently a Secretary/Agent for American Family Insurance Company in St. Marys. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in St. Marys.
She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Pamela and Jim Hays, Rossville; her father, Charles A. Persons, Topeka; a brother, David Persons, Rossville; her fiance, David J. Hemler, St. Marys; and her maternal grandparents, Larry and Ann Marshall, St. Marys.
A family visitation was held from 7 until 8:30 Sunday at the Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home.
Angie’s service was at 10 a.m. Monday at the St. Marys United Methodist Church. Burial was in St. Clere Cemetery north of Emmett.
