Delia Man, 75, Killed

Prank Simecka, 74, of Delia, was killed instantly Friday afternoon when he walked in front of a moving Union Pacific freight train near the Delia depot.
Witnesses said section hands near the scene warned Simecka that the train was approaching, but he “paid no attention.”
He was born July 4, 1876, in Moravia. He leaves a brother, Joseph B. Simecka of Delia; a sister, Mrs. Agnes Martinek of Rossville, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services, will be at 9 a. m. Monday in the Sacred Heart Church in Delia. The body will lie in state at the Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys until the time of service. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery at St. Marys.
