Obituary- Cahill, Alva
ALVA S. CAHILL
Alva S. Cahill of Eskridge died early Saturday morning, at Stormont hospital, following a major operation a week ago. Mr. Cahill has been in poor health since last November.
He was born at Formosa, Kans., in 1884 and was 53 at the time of his death.
He was a member of the Rossville Methodist Church. In 1910 he married Violet Mosely of Rossville and five children were born to this union.
Mr. and Mrs. Cahill have spent most of their married life on farms in or near Shawnee county.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Alva S. Cahill; five children, Carl, Walter, and Chettie, of Eskridge; Mrs. Clyde Miller and John Cahill, of Topeka; his mother, Mrs. Maggie Thomas, Topeka; four sisters, Mrs. Eva Burke, and Mrs. Mary Harden of Topeka; Mrs. Rettie Kisinger, Red Lodge, Mont., Mrs. Daisy Bernander, of Oklahoma City; six Brothers, James, Trenton, Mo. Clarence, Semon, S. D., Edward, Woodlake, Neb.; John, Buffalo, N. Y.; Ray, Los Angeles, Calif., and Calvin and Merele, of Powder River, Wyo.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Shellabarger home. Burial in the Rossville Cemetery.
Relatives from out-of-town in Rossville, Saturday to attend the burial services of Alva Cahill included: Mr. and Mrs. Daisy Bernander of Oklahoma City; Mr. and Mrs. James Cahill of Trenton, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Conley, Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Harvey of Topeka.
