Marriage- Davis, Beverly-Martinek, Dwight
Wedding vows exchanged May 31 at Delia Sacred Heart
Beverly Jean Davis and Mr. Dwight J. Martinek exchanged marriage vows at 10:30 a.m., May 31, in the Sacred Heart Church, Delia. The Rev. John Croughwell officiated.
Parents of the bride are: Mr. and Mrs. Stanley A. Davis of Willard, and Mr. Martinek is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bennie J. Martinek, Rossville.
The bride wore an A-line floor-length gown of white bridal satin with short sleeves. The skirt and chapel-length train were edged with wide borders of scalloped lace. Her aisle-wide watteau train was attached to a face-framing headpieces of white jeweled roses. She carried a cascade of pink roses and white carnations.
Mrs. Tom Sage, Topeka, attended her sister as matron of honor and Mr. Douglas Martinek, Jackson, Mich., brother of the bridegroom, was best man.
Bridesmaids were Cathy Cassidy, Kansas City; Jacqueline Enders, Cranbury, N.J.; Mary Lynn Feldkamp, Natoma; and Jane Parr, Delia.
Groomsmen were: Brad Schlesinger, Manhattan; Terry Bettis, Topeka; Ben Stach, Rossville; and Tom Sage, Topeka. Ushers were: Scott Diehl, Harold Michaels, Topeka; and Daryl Mitchell, Rossville. Junior ushers were Jeffrey Diehl and Stanley Thompson.
Michelle Martinek, niece of the bridegroom, was flower girl and Steven Thompson, a cousin of the bride, was ring bearer. Vernon Sumner and Michael Kerwin served the Mass. Daniel Brock was commentator.
A reception was held at the Delia Grade School following the ceremony. Following the reception a buffet luncheon was held at the American Legion Hall in Rossville.
Mrs. Martinek is a graduate of Rossville High School and will be a senior at Kansas State University this fall, where she is majoring in home economics education. She is a member of Kappa Delta Pi.
Mr. Martinek is a graduate of Rossville High School and will be a senior at Kansas State University this fall. He is majoring in physical education, and is a member of Phi Epsilon Kappa, honorary fraternity.
Mr. and Mrs. Martinek are making their home for the summer in Batavia, New York, where Mr. Martinek is playing with the Batavia Trojans baseball club.
