Burdett-Stiles Ceremony Held in August
Miss Stephanie Kay Burdett and Mr. Howard Dale Stiles were united in marriage on Friday. August 16, 1974, at the Rossville United Methodist Church. The Reverend William Hurtig heard the exchange of vows in a candlelight ceremony at 7:00 in the evening.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Walter L. Burdett and Mrs. Gertrude Stiles, all of Rossville.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a full length gown of white polyester with a bishop's collar. Her net veil was held in place with a pearl and rhinestone tiara. She carried a nosegay bouquet of pink and white daisies.
Shelley Conklin, Topeka, maid of honor, and Linda Heslet, Rossville, bridesmaid, wore gowns made of pink dotted swiss.
Karen and Jim Preble, children of Mr. and Mrs. Walt Preble. Rossville, served as flower girl and ring bearer. Candlelighters were Jill and Mike Richards, children of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Richards, Rossville.
Mr. Stiles' best man was Douglas Fairbanks, Delia. Ushers were Andrew and Charles Burdett. brothers of the bride.
Janice Myers, Rossville, played organ selections preceding and during the ceremony. Vocalists were Debbie Little, Delia, and Randy Dick, Rossville.
A reception was held in the American Legion building in Rossville.
Following a wedding' trip to Kansas City, the couple is at home in Rossville where the bride is a P.L.S. volunteer. Mr. Stiles is employed by Allis-Chalmers in Topeka. Mr. and Mrs. Stiles are both graduates of Rossville High School.
