Marriage- Dolezilek, Frances-Koci, James
Dolezilek-Koci
Miss Francis [sic] Dolezilek, 18, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Dolezilek living six miles northeast of Rossville and James Koci, 26, of Auburn, Kansas, were married at Topeka, Monday morning by the probate judge. In the afternoon and evening the event was celebrated in the Bohemian settlement north of town by a holiday and festivities in "old country" style were entered into by one hundred and fifty guests. Mr. and Mrs. Koci returned from Topeka at noon and went to the home of brides uncle, John Kratina, where a wedding dinner was served to the immediate relatives of the two young people. In the afternoon the merry making was continued at the vacant house on the north Kratina farm. In the evening a dance for the guests was held in the Bohemian hall near the 101 school house. Many Delia and Rossville people were invited out and certainly enjoyed the hospitality of Mr. and Mrs. Dolezilek. Practically every person present brought a present for the new married couple and the gifts were so varied in character and all so practical and useful it will be unnecessary for Mr. and Mrs. Koci to go to a very great outlay to fit up their home. Mrs. Koci was born and raised in the country north of Rossville where she is very popular among the people of the community. Mr. Koci is a prosperous farmer who has long made his home in the Auburn country, and where he and his bride will make their home on a farm.
