Marriage- McConnell, Ruby-Lawrence, Roscoe
McConnell-Lawrence
The marriage of Miss Ruby McConnell, only daughter, of Mrs. Emma McConnell, and Mr. Roscoe Lawrence was quietly solemnized Saturday morning at 11:30 at the home of the bride.
Rev. G.G. Horne, of Topeka, performed the ceremony, in the presence of the immediate relatives and a few friends.
Before the ceremony, Miss Grace Sanders sang "I Love You Truly," accompanied at the piano by Miss Kathleen Pelfrey.
The bride wore a wedding gown of blue crepe, made on princess lines with puff sleeves and grey accessories and carried a lovely bouquet of roses.
Miss Grace Sanders acted as bridesmaid and wore a frock or rose crepe and carried a large bouquet of sweet peas. Mr. Warner Rogers was the best man.
Immediately following the ceremony a wedding luncheon was served. Covers were laid for Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence, Rev. and Mrs. G.G. Horne, of Topeka; J.D. Lawrence; Miss Lois Lawrence, Miss Grace Sanders, Miss Kathleen Pelfrey, Mr. Warner Rogers, Mrs. Emma McConnell, John and James McConnell.
Mrs. Lawrence was a graduate with the class of 1930, from Rossville High school, and was active in all school and church activities.
Mr. Lawrence is a young farmer and has grown to manhood in this community.
The bride and groom left after dinner for a short wedding trip to Kansas City.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence will be at home on a farm 4 1/2 miles northeast of Rossville.
