Reid-Bacon
One of the prettiest weddings of the season was solemnized on Tuesday June the 1st at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Reid when their daughter, Alice Catherine was united in marriage to Mr. L.C. Bacon of Boise, Idaho.
The ceremony took place at high noon upon the veranda of the Reid's beautiful country home which was fittingly decorated in green foliage and white flowers, the colors of the bride's sorority. The bridal bouquet was of American beauty roses. The bride wore a princess trimmed in embroidery and [ ] insertion.
Preceding the ceremony Miss Edith Bideau of Chanute, Kans., sang "O Promise Me" and during the ceremony Miss Ethel Howerton played softly Mendelssohn's Wedding March. The Rev. H.L. Nelson of Topeka, assisted by Rev. C.B. Dalton Pastor of the first M.E. Church of Boise, Idaho, performed the ceremony. At the close of the ceremony of the groom was greeted by the Kappa Sigma Fraternity yells, while the songs of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority wished the bride much joy.
Mr. and Mrs. Bacon are both graduates of Baker University, having graduated in the class of 1908. Mr. Bacon is a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity and Mrs. Bacon of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority and both of these organizations were well represented.
Only the immediate relatives and members of the fraternities were present.
The out of town guests were Rev. and Mrs. Nelson of Topeka, Kans., Rev. C.B. Dalton of Boise, Idaho, Mrs. H.L. Wilkerson, Topeka, Kas., Mrs. John James and daughter Leila, Topeka, Kans., Mrs. Clyde Stewart and Mrs. Mary Simmons, Baldwin, Kas., Misses Alice Lanyon, Pittsburg, Kas., Edna Pearce, Colo. Springs, Colo., Zula Green, Blue Mound, Kas., Minewa Bragg, St. Joe, Mo., Edna Smith, Baldwin, Kas., Lama Nicholson, Seranton, Kas., Edna Brooks, Excelsor Springs, Mo., Stell Morton, Topeka, Kas., Prof. Ray Green, Concordia, Kas., Prof. E.C. Montgomery, Clifton, Kas., Prof. B.A. Green, Eureka, Kas., J.H. Moore, Oketo, Kas., Clyde Coffman, Overbrook, Kas., Hugh Jamieson, Burlingame, Kas., Clyde Blanchard, Kas. Cy. Mr. and Mrs. Bacon left last Tuesday evening for Boise, Idaho, where they will spend a few days visiting Mr. Bacon's parents from there they will go to their summer home at Hailey, Idaho, where Mr. Bacon has business interests. During the early fall they expect to make a coast trip visiting the Seattle Exposition and after Oct., 1st they will be at home to their many friends in Buhl, Idaho.
