Carolee Mae Small and Richard Dwayne Failer exchanged marriage vows Jan. 19, 1997, at Heritage Park Wesleyan Church in Topeka.
Officiating at the 2 p.m. service were the Rev. John S. Hedlund and the Rev. John Charles Martin.
The bride was given in marriage by her oldest son, Dallas L. Small, Topeka.
Karen Trump was maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Clarissa Halasney, Mindy Failer, daughter of the bridegroom, and Lona Jost, daughter of the bride. All are of Topeka.
Jim Blanton, Topeka, was best man. The groomsmen were Marcus Small, Topeka, son of the bride; Jim Failer, Silver Lake, brother of the bridegroom; and Chad Jost, Topeka, son-in-law of the bride.
Serving as wedding host was Spencer H. Small, Topeka, son of the bride. Candles were lighted by Christopher Quinton and Matthew Chaffee, both of Topeka. The ushers were Dallas L. Small and John L. Failer, Emmett, brother of the groom.
Sara Mayo, Topeka, was at the guest book. Raida Wylie, Topeka, was organist.
A reception followed in Fellowship Hall at the church. The reception hostess was Kathy Maus, Emmett, sister of the groom.
The bride is a graduate of Hanston (Kan.) High School and attended Hutchinson Community College. She is a Topeka area crafts maker and vendor.
The bridegroom is a graduate of Kaw Area Technical School. He is employed by Famous Brands Distributors in the shipping and receiving department.
The bride is the daughter of Iris D. Dixon, Topeka, and the late Leo B. Dixon. Mr. Failer is the son of the late John E. and Francis I. Failer.
The couple live in Topeka. A summer honeymoon trip is being planned.
